TUT (brown)

TUT vases are created by juxtaposing smaller and larger cylindrical forms. This creates playful, biomorphic shapes. The artist plays with form, sometimes adding typical vase finishes to the simple yet irregular forms. The colors are also deliberate. The dark clay is covered with off-white and blue, a combination so characteristic in the history of ceramics. The vases are hand-formed from stoneware clay and fired at 1240°C.
